St. Leonards-on-Sea methodist church

Church Profile

From 1st September 2016, Park Road Methodist Church and Hollington Methodist Church combined to form St Leonards-on-Sea Methodist Church.

St Leonards-on-Sea Methodist Church is situated right in the heart of Bohemia in St Leonards-on-Sea. We are a family Church with community values and are constantly exploring new and fresh ways of 'doing' Church. On Sundays we provide a traditional service in the morning that combines both old and new styles of worship. We also look to continually expand our range of activities, clubs and events to meet the needs of those in the Church and the community around us. We are a welcoming Church and you can find us on the A21 (Bohemia Road) one mile northwest of Hastings Town Centre.

Morning Service at 10.15am
A traditional service that combines both old and new styles of worship. Holy Communion is celebrated regularly. Church lunch follows the morning service (usually once a month).

Weekday Activities

Village House Group

The Village House Group started many years ago being the merger of a Bible Study Group and a Prayer group. We currently meet at the home of Sylvia Miller in the flats opposite the Hollington building on the first Monday of each month from 2.30pm.

Meets every 2nd and 4th Monday evening of the month at 8pm in the hall. A friendly social evening for ladies of all ages.

Coffee Shop

Every Tuesday from 10.15am-11.30am in the Vestibule. Enjoy the informal companionship or just read your newspaper.

Prayer Group

Meets every Tuesday from 11.30-12noon (after the Coffee Shop). Join our group and light a candle for those you want to pray for. You can attend this straight after the coffee shop or just come to this.

Toddler Group

Every Tuesday from 10am to 11.30am in the hall (during term times). Parents/carers with babies/toddlers are welcome. We are a friendly group and have a large range of equipment. Just pop in or call Marilyn on 01424 427478 for more information.

Art Club

Meets every alternate Wednesday from 10am to 12noon. You are welcome to bring your own project and/or join in any sort of art from knitting and cross stitch to model making and oil painting, plus everything in between. Contact George on 01424 204746 for more information.

Thursday Fellowship

Thursday Fellowship began as Sisterhood in November 1926. The membership is now, mainly, over 60's and includes men.. We have hymns, prayer and reading each meeting and a variety of speakers, some showing power point, slides or DVD's, followed by tea and biscuits. We meet at 2.30pm mid September to mid December, then February to mid July.

Thursday Lunches

The Thursday Lunch was started about 2010, initially as an outreach project. Come and enjoy a time of friendship over a meal. Dates are as announced.

Friday Club

This is the newest activity of the Church and meets from 2.00pm until 4.00pm on a Friday afternoon. It is a relaxed afternoon with many activities to share if you want, board games, table tennis, carpet bowls, jigsaws or just sit and natter and drink coffee or tea. There is usually a 15 to 30 minute activity during the afternoon which you can join in if you wish and a programme of these is on the notice board in the vestibule.

We are a Fairtrade Church and regularly hold events and sell our range of products at church each week. We also hold a number of events such as our quiz night, strawberry tea, barbeque, Family Multi-Arts festival, Autumn Fayre and Christmas Tea.

A number of community groups, such as Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and St Leonards-on-Sea Under Fives also use our premises during the week.
