Church Profile

Trinity is situated in Broad Oak, next door to Brede Primary School. We are a friendly congregation of around 20, some of our older members being unable to attend now. We have members from the three villages we serve and some from further afield. We would love you to join our fellowship and a warm welcome is assured. 2017 should see the start of long overdue improvements to our premises having received grants and money from fundraising.

We have recently renewed contact with the school and improvements to our grounds will include a Nature Study area/outdoor classroom, as well as improved access to the churchyard and for people to enjoy our wonderful view over the Brede valley.

Church Services

There is a service every Sunday at 10.30 am. Our worship is mainly traditional, but we occasionally have a Local Arrangement when we may have an informal service, a Songs of Praise or a café service. We celebrate Holy Communion with Peggy, our Minister, once a month. We have a regular organist and hymn books used are Singing the Faith, Hymns & Psalms and Complete Mission Praise.

Church Activities

Knitters & Natters on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday morning from 10 am. We knit for various charities, or you can bring your own knitting or other craft, over a cup of coffee and a chat.

Open Door meets on the 3rd Wednesday afternoon of the month at 2.30 pm. This is aimed at older people in the community who do not get out much, and transport is provided on request. There is always tea and homemade cake and a varied programme of activities, including table games, quizzes, musical sessions etc. In the summer we have an outing.

Other activities include bible study/DVD sessions, usually in a member’s home as advertised.

At Christmas, Easter and Harvest we visit two local care homes for a short informal service, then tea with the residents.

Our fund raising activities include a Spring Coffee Morning and Sale, Christmas Craft and Cakes Sale, Lent Lunches in members’ homes and concerts.
