community award certificateWe have been delighted that our renovated premises are now being more widely used for activities both 'old' and 'new'. There has even been a Parish Council meeting, where due to large public attendance, the church was almost full!

Knitters and Natters has re-started – though we need a new name as there are many more crafts in evidence! Open Door has also restarted, meeting monthly on the third Wednesday from 2.30pm for a couple of hours. After quite a long gap, it may take some time to build up to earlier numbers, but the pattern of a specific topic each time, plus good conversation – and cake - seems to work well. Recent topics have included ‘Favourite Books’ and ‘All Things Summery’. Anyone is very welcome to join us even if only on an occasional basis.

community shieldA new venture for us recently was a Coffee Morning and an Afternoon Tea, held to raise funds for Christian Aid. We were delighted to send off a cheque for over £200.

Our outreach postmistress was unfortunately ill with Covid, so we were without the Post Office service for several Tuesdays, though Book Swap was able to continue. We are delighted that she is now well again and has resumed her visits.

Another first for us was receiving a Community Award from the Parish Council. We are proud to display the shield and certificate in the hall and hope our outreach will continue to grow and develop.
