St. Leonards-on-Sea methodist church

Church Profile

St Leonards-on-Sea Methodist Church was created from the amalgamation of Hollington and Park Road Methodist Churches and is situated in the heart of Bohemia. As a church we are coming to terms with the effects of Covid and are exploring new and fresh ways of 'doing' Church. On Sundays we can worship in the traditional way and regularly explore new ways through Local Arrangements and the advent of digital opportunities. We are told that we are a welcoming friendly church accepting of all. We are currently looking to rebuild both our church activities and the hosting of our community groups.

Morning Service at 10.15am
A service in a variety of styles that is not only led by ministers and local preachers but also involves the church family in Local Arrangements. Holy Communion is celebrated regularly.

Weekday Activities

Toddler Group

Every Tuesday from 10am to 11.30am in the hall (during term times). Parents/carers with babies/toddlers are welcome. We are a friendly group and have a large range of equipment. Just pop in or contact Rev Tricia on 01424 845109 for more information.

Seenagers (Senior Teenagers)

This is the newest activity of the Church and meets from 2.00pm for a couple of hours on Tuesday afternoon. It is a relaxed afternoon with many activities to share if you want, board games, table tennis, carpet bowls, jigsaws or just sit and natter and drink coffee or tea. There is usually a 15 to 30 minute activity during the afternoon which you can join in if you wish such as bingo, beetle, quizzes, card making and much more. We have even held socially distanced Fish and Chip Lunches. We hold special events such as Seenagers "Last Night of the Proms" with a tea and a summertime Strawberry tea. Contact Sheila on 01424 756476.

Although an independent group, Park Road Under Fives use the hall on four mornings a week.

We are a Fairtrade Church. Prior to Covid we held a number of events such as our quiz night, strawberry tea, barbeque, Bohemia Festival, Autumn Fayre and Christmas Tea and these are gradually being reinstated. Seenagers hold an annual Macmillan Coffee Morning which the whole church supports.

A number of community groups use the premises during the week and recently The Dragonflies Choir have started using the premises. This is a local bereavement group for youngsters.

Community Groups are invited to use the Hall and for bookings contact Bob May on 07821 344381.

We are sensitive to the safety of our family and reflect the current status of the Pandemic in our Safeguarding.
